The servo drive is used for high speed and/or high accuracy applications. The closed loop system includes an encoder integrated into the web drive motor allowing the machine to automatically compensate for speed variations without loss of accuracy. Maximum 16" O.D. label roll is standard. It has a maximum web width of 7", a maximum label width of 6 7/8" and a minimum label size of ½" X ½". It includes a photo electric label sensor. Applicators can bolt-on making them interchangeable should the nature of the application change.

Model 3000Z Controls Package:

The labeling head comes equipped with a key pad display HMI to control all labeling head and applicator functions. The package requires 2 encoders
(1 integrated into the web drive motor and the other for the product handling). The second encoder can be purchased separately.

Model 3000Z Label Sensor Options:
Slot Sensor
The head comes equipped with a self teaching photocell. This means that label sensitivity is automatically adjusted. It is not installed for peeling tip sensing.
Clear Label Sensor
A clear label sensor package is available. This is used for label material with no clear reference edge or register mark on the web. This package is also available as an after market conversion. Sensitivity is adjusted directly at the sensor.
Model 3000Z Web Width Options:
7" Web Width Capacity:
Standard
Wide Web Width Capacity
This option increases the width of the unwind, peeler bar, and rewind assemblies. It is available in the following widths:
Up to 10" wide web
Up to 12" wide web Powered Rewind option is required.
Up to 15" wide web Powered Rewind option is required.
Space Saver This option decreases the width of the unwind, peeler bar and rewind assemblies. The width is customized to order down to a ¾" min web width.
Model 3000Z Unwind Options:
16" Unwind Disc Assembly
Standard is a 16" unwind capacity that can increase run time by more than 80% over a 12" roll before a changeover is required. Features include:
1) Full rewind capability. The design also allows for the used core to be inserted on to the rewind mandrel. This makes removal of the additional waste easy.
2) The Powered Rewind is standard. The separately driven motor is needed to maintain high application rates and take up the complete web from the roll.
3) Fully engineered and supported by dual ball bearings and enclosed in the main head cabinet. The unwind is not simply removed from the head.
20" Powered Unwind Assembly
By upgrading to a 20" unwind capacity run time can increase by almost 3 times before a changeover is required. Features include:
1) Fully supported powered unwind to maintain web tension.
2) The Powered Rewind option is required. The separately driven motor is needed to maintain high application rates and take up the complete web from the roll.
3) Fully engineered and enclosed.
  Dual Unwind Adapter
The dual unwind adaptor allows for a roll of labels to be staged on the labeling head to make change over faster. It is equipped with a low label sensor on the primary and secondary rolls to alter the operator of the roll status.
Model 3000Z Rewind Options:

Powered Rewind
This feature separates the rewind from the main drive and powers it from a separate AC motor. The powered rewind features a quick release feature for ease of waste removal. This feature is standard on the 3000Z.

Model 3000Z Alarm Package Options:
Low Label Sensor
The low label sensor uses a diffused beam type sensor. The sensor is adjusted to look across the unwind roll of labels. On most machines the low label sensor will only illuminate an alarm light to provide a warning to the operator.

Web Break Sensor
This sensor detects the difference in color between the green drive roller and the color of the label backing material. As long as the backing material is in front of the drive roller the sensor does not detect a fault. If the web breaks or the labeler runs out of labels the end of the backing material will be pulled, by the rewind, off the drive roller. The sensor will then detect a fault and send a signal to the relay or PLC. On most labeling heads this will illuminate an alarm light.

The alarm package alerts the operator to a low label unwind or a broken web by illuminating a beacon.
